Acne Early Pregnancy

What is acne early pregnancy? Well, if the name gives you a clue, it is the acne issue happening on the early stage of the pregnancy. Is such thing real? Can it really happen? Can you do something about it? Is the acne problem happening within the early stage only?

The Thing about Pregnancy and Acne

You need to understand that acne can be a complicated issue – more than just having poor hygiene or not taking care of your skin health. Sometimes, acne is deeply related to hormonal activities. When your hormones are acting up, the androgens (yes, even women have androgens) will activate the production of sebaceous glands, resulting in sebum (the natural oil). When the sebum is excessive, and you have issues with the dead skin cells, poor hygiene, and dirt, it will result in acne.

The problem is, your hormone will be crazy when you are pregnant. You can’t really predict what’s going on with your body – you really have no control over it. Because your hormones are acting up, different people may suffer from different conditions. Those who have never had any issue with the acne before suddenly suffer from acne early pregnancy. The acne only happens at the early stage and it simply goes away on its own when the pregnancy reaches higher stage (the second or trimester). Some people, though, may suffer from acne problem for as long as their pregnancy goes on. The acne suddenly disappears after they give birth.

However, some people with acne issue claim that their acne breakouts somehow are reduced during their pregnancy. Some even claim that they don’t suffer from any acne problem after the delivery – it is like their acne suddenly goes away just like that. No one can predict that is going to happen to them during the pregnancy because of the unpredictable hormonal activities.

How to Deal with the Issue

As the acne early pregnancy can be severe, moderate, or mild, there is no way to prevent it from happening. It can happen at any period of the pregnancy – and it can come and go as it pleases. It can even stay for as long as pregnancy takes place.

Despite the fact that there is nothing you can do about it, there are some things that may help with the acne early pregnancy:

  • Make sure that you maintain good hygiene. Wash your face twice a day with mild and mild soap
  • Scrubbing, especially with a washcloth, is a big no-no because it can cause further irritation. Just use your hands for washing the face
  • Pat your face dry and don’t rub it
  • Choose make ups or facial products with water based ingredients. You may want to find the label nonacnegenic or noncomedogenic
  • Always consult your doctor before using a certain product. Pregnant women are more sensitive and they can’t use any beauty products as please. Make sure the products are safe

In the end, maintaining good facial hygiene is a good way but don’t overdo it. Consider yourself luck if you don’t have any acne early pregnancy issue at all.
